Enviro-crusaders are frauds or suckers
Brad Schulze wrote a response to last week’s paid response to his “green scum” letter, pointing out that, although the writer was obviously well-educated, she didn’t get it.

Don’t constrict brain on Connelly Lake:
John Schnable wrote in favor of the Connelly Lake project, hopeful that “unobstructed thinking can lead us to support this project if, when it is presented by professionally qualified scientists, this can be done without causing serious harm to other resources.”
Sick and tired of the mouthy minority:
Gary Hess wrote an entertaining letter regarding the “radical environmentalists” who are “up in arms against the Connelly Lake project.” He encouraged the sane people to “Get off your butts and do something that is good for the people of the borough.”
Connelly Lake would be improvement:
Roger Maynard pointed out that last week’s power outage resulted in more pollution and needless diesel usage, asking “Now tell me again, what it environmentally unsound about AP&T’s proposed Connelly Lake hydroelectric project?” The full letter can be read here.

Schubee Lake would benefit everyone
Rob Goldberg wrote a letter touting Schubee Lake saying, “The question is, which new hydropower site will best serve the needs of our community?” He goes on to explain why he thinks Schubee Lake is a better project, and concludes with, “AP&T is interested in Schubee Lake, and they will investigate it in the spring. A cheaper, simpler, less damaging and less controversial project would benefit everyone.”
Nothing to be gained from name calling
George Figdor complained of last week’s letter calling conservationists a “mouthy minority.” He said LCC is a “solid backer of hydropower,” and, “We supported AP&T’s projects at Goat Lake and Kasidaya Creek.” He pointed out that LCC “researched other sites and…offered the Schubee Lake alternative at a meeting with Stan Selmer.”
